Thunder vs. Grizzlies final score, NBA playoffs 2014: Memphis dominates Oklahoma City in OT, grabs 2-1 series lead

Memphis’ tough defense clamped down on the No. 2 seed in the West on Thursday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies have been waiting to pounce all year. Thursday night, they took care of the Oklahoma City Thunder in Memphis in a convincing win, 98-95.

The Grizzlies kept the Oklahoma City offense in check in the first half, allowing just 36 points through the first two quarters. Memphis was effective at keeping the Thunder off the three-point line, where Scott Brooks' squad finished just 5-of-28 for the game.

Oklahoma City started clicking in the second half, but took until the final six minutes of the fourth quarter to make a run at the Grizzlies. A Russell Westbrook four-point play tied the game, 85-85, with less than a minute left, and sent the teams into OT. Memphis dominated the extra period, and despite late chances to tie the game, the Thunder couldn’t top the Grizzlies at home, 98-95.

Kevin Durant scored 30 points for the Thunder, adding nine rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals. Russell Westbrook scored 30 points on 9-of-26 shooting, adding 13 rebounds, two assists and a steal. No bench player scored more than four points for Oklahoma City.

For Memphis, it was Zach Randolph who led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds, adding six assists. Michael Conley scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Tony Allen contributed 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Beno Udrih added 12 points.

Game 4 is at 9:30 p.m. ET on Sat. Apr. 26 in Memphis. The Grizzlies lead the series, 2-1.
