Pacers vs. Hawks results, NBA playoffs 2014: Indiana forces Game 7

A late Lou Williams turnover allowed the Pacers to close the game on free throws and head back to Indianapolis.

It took until the final minute, but the Pacers held on in Atlanta by a score of 95-88 to force a Game 7 and try to avoid a first-round loss against the Hawks.

Things were hotly contested in the first half. For the first time in the series, Indiana went in to the half with a lead. That was wiped away near the end of the third period, when Paul George went to the bench and Jeff Teague took over. The Atlanta guard dominated the lane, particularly when Roy Hibbert replaced the quicker Ian Mahinmi:

Mike Scott can do more than just shoot threes.

Teague and Paul Millsap took over the fourth quarter, dominating the paint and pushing the Hawks even with Indiana. The game came down to the final minute, when Atlanta had a chance to tie it. But then the Hawks' Lou Williams drove baseline, and passed the ball right to George. Williams then unnecessarily fouled George, and the Pacers won the game on free throws.

For Indiana, George scored 24 points on 7-of-18 shooting and added eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. David West dropped 24 points to go along with 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals. Lance Stephenson scores 21 points and added nine rebounds. Hibbert played just 12 minutes.

Teague led all scorers with 29 points on 8-of-21 shooting, adding four rebounds and two assists. Millsap scored 16 points to go with a game-high 18 rebounds, adding five assists, three steals and two blocks. Lou Williams had 16 points off the bench.

Game 7 will be played Saturday in Indianapolis, with the time of tip-off to be determined.
