Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning, there’s a severe weather warning for Russell Westbrook
That, the Sterling saga and more in Wednesday’s NBA newsletter.

THE GOBLINS WERE AWAKENED: Holy moly. Russell Westbrook finished with 40-10-5-5, Kevin Durant dropped 31 and the Spurs got blown out again. We’re tied up at 2-2.
Serge Ibaka is definitely back, but for the second straight game he got eviscerated by a Spur. This time: Cory Joseph!
#WOJ: “The worst nightmare of these San Antonio Spurs had unfolded across 48 hours here, frame by frightening frame, and now the sullen patriarchs of this dynasty in winter, Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich, marched into the dustbowl night flushed with blank faces and burdened minds.”
TONIGHT: Heat at Pacers, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN. Miami can close it out.
THE BWORST: Spencer Hall defines the Pacers as the best worst team in the NBA and discusses hatewatching them.
JOEL EMBIID SCOUTING REPORT! It includes GIFs of JoJo being JoJo.
WELL HERE WE GO: The Sterlings are reportedly rushing to reach a sales agreement with an unknown bidder before the big NBA hearing and vote next Tuesday. The Los Angeles Times reports that bids are due to the Sterlings by Thursday afternoon, and the new owners could be announced by Friday. (ESPN has the bids being due today.)
Of course, the NBA Board of Governors must approve any sale of the team. This is an odd situation for everyone.
MEANWHILE ... Donald Sterling submitted his official response to the NBA’s charges and punishment. It’s not pretty. Sterling rages against Adam Silver and the league, brings up other smaller fines handed down due to offensive language and says the league doesn’t have the authority to fine more than $1 million, but can’t punish Sterling anyways because of the nature of the recording.
WITTMAN BACK: Randy Wittman inks a 3-year extension.
WHIMSY: A new video set to an early rough mix of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Alright. Alright.
Happy Wednesday. See you next time.
