The San Antonio Spurs will be without Tony Parker for the remainder of Game 6 as the team announced he would not return for the second half due to soreness in his left ankle. Parker ended the night with eight points on 3-of-6 shooting. He had been playing through the injury in previous games, according to the team's in-game update, but couldn't continue through this contest.
Tony Parker injury: Ankle soreness sidelines Spurs’ point guard through second half of Game 6
The Spurs will play the second half of Game 6 without Tony Parker.
Parker played 18 minutes through the first half and didn't appear to favor his ankle. Parker suffered a Grade 1 left ankle sprain in Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks earlier in the postseason. He also suffered a Grade 2 sprain in the same ankle in 2013 and was expected to miss an entire month recovering from the injury.
Parker has played in all of the Spurs' playoff games through their postseason run, and leads the team in both scoring and assists per game. The team has not announced a timetable on his return, but Game 7 is scheduled for Monday (if needed) and the NBA Finals begin on Thursday, June 5.
