Pacers vs. Wizards, NBA playoffs 2014: Game time, TV schedule, radio and more
With the series tied, Washington heads back home to try and grab a lead over the No. 1 seeded team in the Eastern Conference.
Don't count Indiana out yet. After taking a beating in Game 1 against the Washington Wizards, the Pacers battled back on Wednesday night, evening the series at 1-1 as Roy Hibbert exploded for 28 points.
The Pacers did what they do best against Washington in Game 2, locking down on three-point shooters while limiting their turnovers on offense. Where the Wizards hit an incredible 10-of-16 three-pointers in Game 1, they connected for just five in Game 2.
Washington's John Wall and Bradley Beal combined to shoot just 9-of-28, as the Pacers concentrated their efforts in a classic defensive gameplan. The Wizards scored just 82 points in Game 2, and a large part of it was Roy Hibbert's unexpected emergence. Indiana's struggling big man had 28 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Hibbert scored more points on Wednesday than he had in six prior playoff games.
Now, the pressure is on the Wizards as they turn back to the nation’s capital. The worry all playoffs has been that the Pacers will suddenly snap out of it, Hibbert will return to form and Indiana will be the juggernaut they were back in January. There’s no saying whether or not Indiana will be able to replicate their Game 2 performance, but Randy Wittman’s squad will have to find a new way to open up the arc against the Pacers on Friday to grab a series lead.
