Kobe Bryant talks about Lakers’ disastrous season with Jimmy Kimmel
While Kobe would likely rather be in the playoffs, he spent Thursday night visiting “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Since initially suffering the major Achilles injury last spring, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has had a bit of free time on his hands. On Thursday night, he used some of it to drop by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and discuss the Lakers' rough season, the situation with the Clippers and more.
“I would rather sit at home and eat paint chips,” was how Bryant described his experiences watching the Lakers during their worst season since landing Kobe in 1996.
That’s not especially surprising to hear from one of the most competitive athletes in recent memory. Neither was the part where he traded trash talk with MJ after dropping 81 on Toronto:
It’s been a long year for Kobe, who finally saw the years of wear and tear catch up after being one of the game’s more durable players for over a decade. He suffered numerous setbacks this season while trying to get back on the court, eventually bowing out as the Lakers angled for better odds in the lottery.
Those injuries have given us an opportunity to see a different side of Bryant, though, as he’s become more active on social media and made appearances like the one on Kimmel. We always think of Kobe as the hyper-competitive guy staring down teammates on the court, but it’s also cool to see the sense of humor and intelligence that also make him so unique.
