Good morning. Let’s basketball.

THE SPURS RISE AGAIN: Congratulations to San Antonio, celebrating its fifth title in 16 years after walloping the Heat in five. After LeBron James zipped out to a killer start, the Spurs took over and did what they’d done for two straight games in Miami: killed everything in sight. The game was over by the third. The Heat had no answers, and you wonder how anyone ever had any answers for the Spurs.

Paul Flannery hung out in authentic San Antonio to find out what it sounds like what a championship sounds like there.

Kawhi Leonard is your Finals MVP.

Mike Prada wrote that the more talented team won the championship.

I wrote that all’s not lost for Miami as there’s a pretty obvious example of a team that has found a way to parlay star-born success into, uh, 16 years (and counting) of excellence.

’Go [Team\ Go’ is the most successful chant in sports. Science!

SB Nation’s Spurs blog Pounding The Rock reacts. So does SB Nation’s Miami blog Hot Hot Hoops.

The most Boris Diaw anecdote anywhere, involving flip flops, a cappuccino and elite athleticism. That anecdote is from a fun Marc Stein feature on Boom Boom.

Woj on how the Spurs got back here.

Marc Spears on LeBron’s best options from here.

A few stray non-Finals items ...

WIGGINS IN PHILLY: The Sixers are getting a close look at Andrew Wiggins, reports Yahoo!. Philly picks No. 3.

NYET: Mikhail Prokhorov denies he’s looking to sell the Nets.

MONROBOCOP: The Pelicans are among the teams interested in Greg Monroe. Moose is from New Orleans.

The NBA Draft is 11 days away. We have just about two weeks until free agency, three until Orlando Summer League and four until Vegas Summer League. And it’s a FIBA World Championship year. The NBA season is over, but basketball lives forever. Stick with us all offseason.

Happy Monday. Party hard, San Antonio. See you next time.
