The Miami Heat guard has been mulling his options since losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.

Allen, 38, averaged 26.5 minutes per-game for the Heat in 2013-14 while shooting 44.2 percent from the field. The former Celtics, Sonics and Bucks guard is first all-time in the NBA in career three-pointers and has been a major part of Miami's offensive attack coming off the bench for the Heat the last two seasons
Miami is still trying to figure out who all is staying and who might be going, with news breaking Monday that LeBron James is opting out of his contract to become a free agent. With decisions by Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh still up in the air, Allen's return could likely hinge on whether the Heat reconvene as a Big 3 or if Allen's services are required elsewhere.
Allen has been clear about how he wants the twilight of his career to play out, saying he wants to choose to retire or continue on his own terms rather than being forced into a decision.
