The Memphis Grizzlies and Zach Randolph aren't close in their contract extension negotiations, and the 32-year-old power forward is now considering free agency, reports Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski. Memphis hasn't budged from offering a three-year extension, but Randolph is seeking a four-year extension.

If Randolph decides to opt out of his contract, he will leave the final year of his current deal worth $16.5 million on the table and become an unrestricted free agent in July.
Randolph has until June 30 to use his early termination option, but it was expected that he would re-sign with the Grizzlies. Memphis general manager Chris Wallace and Randolph’s agent have been in extension discussions over the past several weeks, according to Wojnarowski but now the two sides are holding firm to their desires. At the surface level, it seems that the Grizzlies have reservations about giving the forward a deal that ends beyond his 35th birthday.
Randolph averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in 2013-14, where he helped the Grizzlies win 50 games despite a difficult start to the season that wasn't helped by center Marc Gasol suffering a knee injury in the first half of the year.
