Brooklyn Nets big man Kevin Garnett plans to come back for another season, according to ESPN New York's Ohm Youngmisuk.

There was some question whether Garnett would return to the Nets or retire after 19 NBA seasons. But all indications are that Garnett will be back, and Nets general manager Billy King believes the 38-year-old will begin preparing earlier this year than he did last summer.
Garnett will make $12 million in the last year of a three-year deal originally signed with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics traded Garnett along with Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to the Nets in a blockbuster deal last summer. Pierce is an unrestricted free agent this summer, and perhaps he'll be more willing to return with Garnett back in the fold.
Garnett played limited minutes in his first season with the Nets, averaging 20.5 minutes in 54 regular-season games. The big man averaged a career-low 6.5 points while grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game, the lowest amount since his rookie season. His postseason numbers weren’t much different, as he posted averages of 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game.
While Garnett’s offensive game has clearly slipped, he did still have a positive impact on the Nets’ defense. Brooklyn gave up 100.5 points per 100 possessions with Garnett on the court last season, compared to allowing 106.6 points per 100 possessions when he was on the bench, according to NBA.com’s stats page. The defensive rating of 100.5 was best on the team.
