Joe Harris is going from the collegiate Cavaliers to the pro Cavaliers. Cleveland took him with the 33rd overall pick just months after he led Virginia to the Sweet 16.

Harris may not have the reputation as the Cavs’ first pick, but he will be looking to prove himself in Cleveland.

Harris played four years at Virginia, capping his senior season by scoring 12 points per game and shooting 40 percent from three. He finished second in school history in both career three-point percentage (40.7 percent) and three-pointers made (263).
The Cavaliers selected Andrew Wiggins with their other draft pick, the first overall. Harris doesn’t exactly come to Cleveland with the same hype, but he can earn his way onto the team as a prime shooting target for star point guard Kyrie Irving. He would play behind Dion Waiters in the backcourt and has the potential to be a spark off the bench as Cleveland looks to improve off a 33-49 season.
Harris is not known as one of the draft’s most athletic players, which might explain why he was not taken in the first round, but his ability on the offensive end might make up for it.
