Good morning, here’s everything that happened in the NBA Draft
Spoiler alert: there was a lot.

Good morning. Let’s basketball.
NO. 1 ALL ALONG: A year ago, if not for that pesky age minimum, Andrew Wiggins would have been the consensus No. 1 pick. And lo, here he was, the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The Cavaliers have another centerpiece stud, and David Blatt has a young dude with defensive promise, so we’ll see how this works out.
And as for Joel Embiid slipping? Only down to the No. 3, where he’ll join Nerlens Noel in Philly. At some point in the distant future.
Here are the full draft results, Nos. 1-60. Here’s a list of every trade that went down. Here are the top five undrafted free agents.
Isaiah Austin had an NBA Draft moment most of us will never forget. Kudos to the NBA and of course to Austin, who is using this setback to help people. What a great guy. Matt Norlander goes behind the scenes to see how the tribute came together.
Mark Deeks did a huge comprehensive evaluation of the league’s 30 GMs. Still important heading into free agency, which begins Tuesday at midnight by the way.
Adreian Payne honored Lacey Holsworth. He ends up with the Hawks, which is a great fit.
Nik Stauskas and family are pretty horrible at handshakes. Thank goodness for the Kings that’s not how you score buckets in the NBA!
Whoops! ESPN aired the wrong Bogdanovic highlight reel with Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic -- not Croatian Nets prospect Bojan Bogdanovic -- was drafted. We have the right highlights.
The Heat drafted Shabazz Napier, but can they keep LeBron in “South B*tch”?
BREAKING: Bill Simmons loves the Celtics.
The Raptors used their first-round pick on a dude named Bruno that I and many other NBA fiends had never heard of before.
Want to get ready for free agency? Here’s my ranking of the top 75 potential free agents.
We’ll be back in your inbox Saturday morning for a quick ditty with all the next-day fallout from the draft, including grades, training camp invites and rumors of what’s to come next week. Until then, rest up.
See you next time.
