Kevin Durant received two more total points than LeBron James in making the 2013-14 All-NBA first team, which was announced by the league on Wednesday.

A group of 125 NBA media members assigned point values of five (first team), three (second team) and one (third team) to three players at five positions, and Durant earned all of their first-team votes. James was a vote short being a unanimous first-team member.
Durant and James, who led all vote-getters with 625 and 623 points respectively, were joined on the first team by guards Chris Paul and James Harden.
Joakim Noah made the first team as a center. As an aside, the $500,000 bonus he earns for making the first team puts the Chicago Bulls over the luxury tax threshold, which Grantland's Zach Lowe noted to be a concern for a team that could be in the running to pay a repeater tax down the line. The repeater tax goes into practice if a team is over the tax line in three of four years, and this outcome puts the Bulls over the line in two straight seasons.
Noah's appearance bumped Dwight Howard to the second team, where he is joined by forwards Blake Griffin and Kevin Love, along with guards Stephen Curry and Tony Parker.
Indiana Pacers forward Paul George made the third team and with his two All-NBA appearances earns $7 million in bonuses, ESPN's Brian Windhorst points out. The second All-NBA vote puts George under the Derrick Rose rule, which will allow the Pacers to pay their forward 30 percent of the salary cap on his new contract rather than the standard 25 percent for players in their first six NBA seasons.
Joining George on the third team are center Al Jefferson, forward LaMarcus Aldridge, and guards Goran Dragic and Damian Lillard.
Notable omissions from the first three teams include Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, and Spurs center Tim Duncan, all of whom were All-NBA selections in 2012-13.
