L.A. will remain Swaggy for a few more years. The Lakers have re-signed Nick Young to a four-year contract, his agency reports. The deal is for $21.5 million over the course of the contract, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

— Priority Sports (@PrioritySports) July 11, 2014 This is Young’s first long-term contract, and it comes as a mild surprise given the Lakers’ push for future flexibility. But Young turned in a nice year last season, and his contract won’t eat up too much of the cap.
The Lakers saw young lead an undermanned roster last season by averaging 17.9 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting. Young shot 38.6 percent from the three-point stripe and also averaged a career-high 4.5 free throws per game. Young will remain part of the refurbished Lakers core that will attempt to help Kobe Bryant back from an Achilles injury that forced him to miss all but six games of the 2013-14 season. Young can take the pressure off Bryant in terms of the nightly scoring load.
