Marshall's $915,243 contract for the 2014-2015 season was fully unguaranteed, making him a clean waive for the Lakers as they adjust their salary structure.

Marshall was included in the trade package that sent Marcin Gortat from the Phoenix Suns to the Washington Wizards last summer and was immediately waived. He was not claimed off of waivers, but the 13th-overall pick in the 2012 draft worked his way back into the NBA through the D-League. The Lakers signed him to help address their lack of point guard depth.

The Bucks will keep Marshall in the league, adding the pass-first point guard to their young roster. Marshall averaged 8.0 points and 8.8 assists in 29 minutes per game last season with the Lakers, filling in as their starting point guard following Steve Nash's struggles with injuries and Steve Blake being traded to the Golden State Warriors.
Milwaukee's point guard depth is likely full now with Brandon Knight and Nate Wolters also under contract.
