NBA TV caught wind of our collective offseason itchiness, and will be hosting a one-hour special Wednesday night dedicated to unveiling the 2014-15 NBA Schedule. Set for 6 p.m. ET, the special piggy-backs off the NFL’s recently-adopted tradition of making a big deal out of things we overlooked before, though the NBA’s production will be much more modest than the NFL’s three-hour spectacle. It also won’t run counter to a major sport’s postseason.
2014-15 NBA schedule to be released at 6 p.m. ET
The 2014-15 NBA schedule will officially be released during a one-hour special Wednesday night, but a few marquee matchups have already been leaked including LeBron James’ return to Miami.

The schedule release special will, however, give us a few things to look forward to as we while away the offseason. As usual, marquee matchups will likely be set for the season openers and on Christmas Day.
NBA Schedule Release
Though the schedule has yet to officially be released, several matchups have already been leaked. In what should be one of the more highly-anticipated matchups of the season, LeBron James will return to Miami with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.
Via Pro Basketball Talk, the rest of the Christmas Day slate will pit the Oklahoma City Thunder against the San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Clippers against the Golden State Warriors, the New York Knicks against the Washington Wizards, and the Chicago Bulls again the Los Angeles Lakers.
The opening day double-header on Oct. 28 will reportedly feature a late game between the Houston Rockets and the Clippers. The earlier game will be between the Spurs and another marquee opponent, likely either the Dallas Mavericks or the Cavaliers (exactly who is unclear).
Of course, those matchups are still technically rumors. You can tune in Wednesday at 6 p.m. to find out for certain who will be playing who, and when.
