Good morning, sorry Joel Embiid is not ‘Juicylips’ after all

That and more in the week’s final NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Let’s basketball.

WHAT THE MARKET KNOWS: ... is nothing, basically, I argue in a piece about Eric Bledsoe’s contract negotiations.

WHY THE SUNS WILL BE MUST-WATCH TV. "Because they have Miles Plumlee" is not reason No. 1.

INTERESTING: Jabari Parker will begin his career as a power forward in Milwaukee, which suggests a frontline of Larry Sanders-Parker-Giannis Antetokounmpo. Unless the Greek Freak is playing point guard.

SO KD: Kevin Durant doesn’t play 2K as himself because that would be arrogant. So he plays as Nick Young. (Just kidding. He plays as LeBron.)

KERR Q&A: Maybe the most intriguing situation for a rookie coach this season is Steve Kerr in Oakland. Tim Kawakami sat down to talk with him.

FERRY FALLOUT: Mike Budenholzer talks about what the impact of the Ferry saga has been on the Hawks. Meanwhile, it appears Ferry’s network of support around the league might save his job, depending on the opinion of course of the next controlling partner in the ownership group.

MORE ON SIMMONS: Always worth reading Will Leitch, especially when he knows the subject of controversy well. Here’s an argument that Bill Simmons should have been suspended for his comments.

BAD NEWS IN CHARLOTTE: Jeffrey Taylor arrested on domestic assault charges.

WORTH NOTING: Sam Presti will not trade Reggie Jackson (a la James Harden) if an early extension deal isn’t reached by the end of October.

YEP: The Mavericks got better this offseason, but they’ll miss Vince Carter and Shawn Marion.

TRAAAAADE: Keith Bogans to Cleveland for essentially nothing. For the Cavaliers, this is about landing another 2015-16 contract that happens to be unguaranteed, which should help land another high-caliber player at the deadline or in June 2015.

SET ASIDE SOME TIME: Lee Jenkins has a story on Erik Spoelstra in this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated. It should be online on Friday. Lee is the best working basketball writer. Speaking of which ...

NEXT REIGN: ... his colleague Chris Ballard might be 1b on that list, and he has a great piece on basketball in Seattle.

PROGRAMMING ALERT: Rachel Nichols -- who does a bang-up job executing really interesting interviews -- has a sitdown with LeBron for CNN’s Unguarded on Friday at 10:30 p.m. Excerpt.

JOEL-HANS’ WORLD: Unfortunately, in this tweet Mr. Embiid was just trolling. Some other PSN user has the handle “Juicylips” and likely spent several minutes very confused. (The best part was the image Embiid used to reveal the troll. Yao is forever.)

WAIT, THIS IS SERIOUS? Steve Ballmer is going to transition the Apple holdouts in the Clippers organization to Windows devices next summer. He knows Beats are an Apple product now, right? I’m much more bearish on the Clippers’ ability to sign free agents now.

Happy Friday. See you next time.
