Portland Trail Blazers star LaMarcus Aldridge has been ruled out of Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings after injuring his hand in the first half. Aldridge was defending Kings star DeMarcus Cousins on a drive to the rim and tried to slap at the ball. He exited the game immediately after and the team said he would not return.

Here’s video of the play:

Aldridge will have X-rays, according to the team.

Aldridge had 10 points in 14 minutes when he came out of the game. Portland trialed Sacramento, 56-51, at halftime.

Portland entered the night as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, but had lost three in a row. Aldridge is having another all-star worthy season, averaging 23.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game on 46.2 percent shooting. The Blazers’ schedule the rest of the month includes games at Phoenix, vs. Washington, at Cleveland and at Atlanta.
