Good morning. We had a last-minute surprise in NBA All-Star voting as Kyle Lowry zipped past Dwyane Wade for the second starting guard spot in the East. Wade is likely to still get in, and Lowry was a mortal lock either way. The real ramification here is that it justifies the horrid, annoying, omnipresent campaigning the Raptors did for Lowry during recent Raptors broadcasts. We are absolutely going to have to suffer Matt Devlin saying “Hashtag NBA Ballot” 500 times a year now.
Good morning. Kyle Lowry is a Hashtag NBA All-Star Starter.

James Harden did not catch Kobe Bryant in the West, which means there is effectively one less spot than there could have been. Here are the starters for each team. Reserves to be voted on by coaches henceforth.
EAST: John Wall, Kyle Lowry, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Pau Gasol.
WEST: Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, Marc Gasol, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis.
Alright, let’s basketball.
POORTLAND: One player unlikely to be taking one of the West reserves spots is LaMarcus Aldridge, who will miss 6-8 weeks with a thumb injury. This is horrible.
SALT IN THE WOUND: Boston beat Portland on an ugly broken play resulting in an Evan Turner three. Trust the process!
AND BROOK LOPEZ NEVER WALKED AGAIN: DeAndre Jordan got up to get down.
ANOTHER ALL-STAR DOWN: Kobe Bryant has a torn rotator cuff. It’s not clear how much time he’ll miss, but if he needs surgery he’ll be done for the season.
SCRAPING GORTAT OFF THE FLOOR: Zito Madu breaks down Durant’s big poster dunk as only he can.
FAMILY FEUD: Drama and a lawsuit are percolating in New Orleans concerning Tom Benson’s stewardship of the Pelicans and Saints.
Happy Friday. See you next time.
