Good morning. Klay Thompson was only the tip of the iceberg.

Good morning. That was quite a weekend of NBA basketball. Here’s what you may or may not have missed. First, the bad:

CURSE OF JOSH SMITH: Brandon Jennings, who has been out-of-control awesome since the Pistons waived Josh Smith, ruptured his Achilles and is done for the season. Just crushing for the Pistons.

GOOD NIGHT, KOBE: Kobe will apparently decide on Monday whether he will have rotator cuff surgery, which would end his season.

WAIT, WHAT? Mirza Teletovic almost died from blood clots in his lung.

WELP: Chad Ford is discovered to have changed his draft rankings years after the fact. He denies any involvement; ESPN believes him and says they will try to find the real culprit.

And now the awesome you may or may not have missed:

KLAY! Klay Thompson dropped 37 points ... in a quarter. Watch the record-breaking explosion in all its glory. Prada grades each of the 13 shots he made in the third against the Kings on Friday. I had a chart showing how impressive the feat was.

HASSAN UPSIDE: Hassan Whiteside had a Kanye triple-double on national TV in like 24 minutes of work (including 12 blocks!). He said he just wants to improve his 2K rating.

LMA: LaMarcus Aldridge decided to postpone surgery and play.

DIENG MAN: Gorgui Dieng with a beautifully awkward accidental hook shot.

THE MOMENT WE WERE ALL WAITING FOR: It was totally overshadowed by Klaymageddon on Friday, but true magic happened when, in a huddle, Ryan Kelly stood to the left of Jordan Clarkson to give us ... Kelly Clarkson.

So there’s your NBA weekend. If it’s actual coverage of the games you’re after, our NBA Scores hub should help you out.

WELL THAT’D BE SOMETHING: The Nets and Hornets are discussing a potential Joe Johnson-Lance Stephenson swap, reports Woj.

HAIL THE CELTICS: Boston almost beat the Warriors in Golden State after beating the Nuggets and Blazers. Avery Bradley’s brilliant shooting is a big part of Boston’s successes.

UPDATED DRAFTEXPRESS MOCK: With lottery odds figured in.

CHUCKWAGON: A week in the life of Chuck Hayes.

ON THE LAKERS: Jonathan Tjarks writes that the Lakers are a family business in an industry newly dominated by hedge funders.

WHIMSY: NBA logos as video game characters are wonderful. The Memphis Zangiefs and Golden State Samus are greatness.

Happy Monday. See you next time.
