Ricky Rubio will return to action Monday against the Dallas Mavericks after missing 43 games with an ankle injury, a source told the Associated Press. He was injured Nov. 7 during a loss against the Orlando Magic and has been out ever since. The Timberwolves have gone 4-23 without their starting point guard after starting 2-3 with him on the court.
Ricky Rubio to return from injury Monday against the Mavericks, per report
The Timberwolves point guard will play his first game in three months.

Injuries to Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic followed Rubio's and the Timberwolves, which started the season trying to be competitive, decided to focus on developing their young players instead with their core veterans out. Martin and Pekovic have already returned and now Rubio is about to. The only player left out with injury for Minnesota is Shabazz Muhammad now.
Rubio averaged 9.4 points and 10 assists in the five games in which he was available. He will surely go back to starting in place of rookie Zach LaVine. His playmaking and his flare will be a welcomed addition to a Minnesota team having a miserable season and his return will allow the front office to evaluate how the rest of the roster fits around a player coach and GM Flip Saunders envisions becoming a star.
