Good morning. Let’s basketball.
The Cavs just won the Eastern Conference
Good morning. We have that and more in Thursday’s NBA newsletter.

A GRAND OLD PREVIEW: In case you hadn’t heard, our giant NBA preview came out on Wednesday! We have Paul Flannery on Anthony Davis. We have yours truly on the 19 best NBA players born in the ‘90s, complete with stylized ‘90s-style basketball cards. We have Zito Madu on the Timberwolves. We have yours truly on Kevin Durant’s odd season ahead. And we have all of our team previews and a number of summer profiles rebooted and suaved up. Our product team is the best in the business and made our words sing. Please check it out!
THE TRISTAN THOMPSON SAGA HAS MERCIFULLY ENDED: The Cavaliers and Tristan Thompson cut a deal: five years, $82 million guaranteed. By holding out, Thompson got some more dough over the life of the deal. By refusing to cave before they had leverage, the Cavaliers kept Thompson far away from his max contract desires. Win-win.
... except for guys already under contract like DeMarcus Cousins, who can’t help but express their feelings about how much a 9-9 player is making.
EVERYTHING GREAT ABOUT THE ‘90S: Elena Bergeron has a dope appreciation of ‘90s-era Fleer cards. I wasn’t a big card collector, but this was my era and I didn’t had a few of these.
DREW BADDEN: Drew Gooden tried to step up to prevent a Tyler Johnson dunk. That proved to be a poor decision.
WHEW: Some NBA alternate uniforms are so bad that when Dan Gilbert presented three hideous potential Cavs alt jerseys on Twitter, we believed him. It was a joke. Good joke, Dan.
WTF NOLA: Tyreke Evans had knee surgery this week. Is anyone other than Anthony Davis not injured down there?
Happy Thursday. See you next time.
