The NBA is finally putting advertisements on jerseys -- in the All-Star Game, at least. When the NBA’s best come to Toronto for the All-Star Game in February, players will be wearing a 3.25 inch x 1.6 inch Kia logo in the upper left corner of their jerseys, according to the Wall Street Journal.
NBA All-Star uniforms will have Kia ads this year, per report
Blake Griffin won’t be the only NBA star serving as a pitchman for Kia come February.

Kia and the NBA have also agreed to the same deal for the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte. It’s the first time one of the four major American professional sports leagues have placed advertisements on uniforms.
Kia has already been a major presence on All-Star Weekend, with company pitchman Blake Griffin famously jumping over one of their cars during the dunk contest in 2011.
Advertisements on jerseys have been popular on European soccer teams for years. They’re also a part of uniforms in the MLS and on driver’s suits in NASCAR. But while leagues like the NHL have talked about placing advertisements on jerseys, the NBA All-Star Game will be the first event to actually go through with it.
