Friday’s 11-game NBA schedule included LeBron James scoring 31 points to lead the Cavaliers over Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks at Madison Square Garden., and the Pacers building a huge lead then holding on to beat the young Timberwolves in Indiana.

    Not that it was an easy win. The Cavaliers started out quickly, building up a nine-point lead in the second quarter, but then went ice cold. They ended up being outscored 30-17 in that frame as the Knicks held a seven-point lead at the half behind 22 points from Anthony.

    Offenses stagnated in the second half, though, as shot weren’t falling for either team. The Cavaliers went scoreless over the final four minutes of the third. But the Knicks couldn’t take advantage as they only had a six-point lead heading into the fourth. Then, it was their turn for a scoring drought.

    Favors got the start at center and dominated on both ends. He forced Whiteside into a 4-for-10 night, using his length to disrupt his post up attempts and block two of his shots. Bosh finished with 25 points, but he did a lot of his damage against the overmatched Trey Lyles and scored 11 of those in the eight minutes Favors was resting.

    Favors only got a crack at guarding the two-time NBA champion for a short stretch. In that time, he showed off his quickness with a beautiful recovery that not many players his size could make.
