— NBA (@NBA) December 2, 2015 The 76ers put together a tribute video and Dr. J and Bryant’s high school coach presented him with a gift a la Derek Jeter’s retirement tour. They gave him his Lower Merion High School Jersey -- No. 24 -- even though he wore No. 33 in high school.
Plus, they honored him with this touching video paying homage to Bryant’s “Dear Basketball” retirement letter.
Bryant had to love the tribute, because he caught fire to start the game, scoring the first 11 points and 13 points in the first quarter.
The chants changed from KO-BE to MVP.
Hey, if the 76ers aren’t going to win, Philadelphia fans might as well cheer for something.
