The 76ers gave Kobe Bryant a framed jersey from his high school before his final game in Philly

Bryant’s farewell tour is off to a nice start, get ready for more gifts!

All it took to jumpstart Kobe Bryant's season was a trip to his hometown of Philadelphia for his farewell tour. After a rousing ovation, a tribute video and a gift from the 76ers before the game, Bryant caught fire, hitting his first three three-point shots and scoring the first 11 Lakers' points.

The crowd chanted KO-BE after a rousing pre-game introductions from the PA announcer:

The 76ers put together a tribute video and Dr. J and Bryant’s high school coach presented him with a gift a la Derek Jeter’s retirement tour. They gave him his Lower Merion High School Jersey -- No. 24 -- even though he wore No. 33 in high school.

Plus, they honored him with this touching video paying homage to Bryant’s “Dear Basketball” retirement letter.

Bryant had to love the tribute, because he caught fire to start the game, scoring the first 11 points and 13 points in the first quarter.

The chants changed from KO-BE to MVP.

Hey, if the 76ers aren’t going to win, Philadelphia fans might as well cheer for something.
