Klay Thompson sprains right ankle in Warriors’ win over Pacers

X-rays came back negative, and Thompson said he would be “back in no time.”

Klay Thompson injured his right ankle with less than a minute to play in the Golden State Warriors' win over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. The Warriors led by as many as 32 and Thompson sat out the majority of the fourth quarter. But the Pacers chipped away at the lead, and the starters returned to the court to close out the game. That's when Thompson turned his right ankle.

The Warriors announced after the game that Thompson suffered a sprained right ankle, X-rays were negative, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports. Speaking to reporters after the game on NBA TV, Thompson said that he would be “back in no time.”

The Warriors would hold on to move to 23-0. Next up, the Warriors play the Boston Celtics on Friday and the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

Thompson had 39 points and made 10 three-point shots in the win. It was his season high in points. He made 11 threes in a game last season the game he set the NBA record for points in a single quarter with 39. Thompson is averaging 17.2 points per game this season.
