James Harden was masterful once again, finishing with 40 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists while leading the Rockets to a good road win in Phoenix.
James Harden adds to his MVP case

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY SportsAny time the Rockets needed a basket, Harden was there. Sometimes it would come in the form of a sweet crossover and a drive to the hoop. Sometimes it would be a cross-court pass to a shooter on the wing. Harden has become one of the league’s premier and most complete offensive players. On Tuesday night his full repertoire was on display.
Eventually, the question is going to be whether Harden should be the league MVP. His numbers certainly put him in that conversation. He’s averaging 27.5 points per game on 45 percent shooting, 39 percent shooting from behind the arc to go along with 6.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game. The NBA’s leader in free-throws made and attempted. A Player Efficiency Rating of 27.61, the fifth-best number in the league. A player carrying a contending team on his back.

The Kings team bus played host to BOOGIEZ II MEN after Tuesday night’s loss to the Bulls:
I don’t care how bad his voice is, Reggie Evans. You let DeMarcus belt as he pleases.

“Grumpy cat, guys. Right!?” Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY SportsYes, he is reading books about millenials (or as he apparently calls them, “Generation Y”) and hiding their phones.
This is the same person who, after suggesting his team might be trying to lose, rapped a scouting report to his players. RAPPED. He is a quintessential Dad of Tweens In Way Over His Head, except he’s dealing with grown men who probably laugh at all of this. When he calls plays with emojis, this might be over.

Of course, when you look at it, you can tell that the lob is actually to the trailer, Nikola Mirotic. But at no point was Mirotic interested in finishing the oop. I think he might’ve thought it was a shot. Guys throw alley-oops that go untouched all the time, but the way the ball hangs in the air for about three seconds and the fact that nooooooooooooooobody is there to finish it is what makes this gold.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY SportsIf you’ve ever seen NBA warm-ups, you know the court is strewn with all sorts of crap while guys get ready, including reporters and cameras right on the floor. Things like this are bound to happen:
Of course, as we saw in Maryland-Iowa over the weekend, cameras can cause trouble even during the game.

One’s a mistake. Two’s an epidemic. Mere days after the Heat messed up an inbound pass at a crucial moment, the Suns did the exact same thing:
Instead of an important late-game inbound, this was just Eric Bledsoe trying to move fast after a make. The overall problem here seems to be that bigger guys assume point guards will receive, not throw, the inbound pass. Bledsoe inbounded the ball quickly to P.J. Tucker so he could bolt up the floor before the Rockets got set, but Tucker is so accustomed to stepping out of bounds and throwing that pass himself that he just walked straight into a turnover.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsFor the Clippers this win could be the first step into making the best out of a bad situation, seizing the opportunity to develop some depth that could come in handy in the playoffs and regain the focus they lost along the way. It’s not enough to wash away the bad taste the last two games left but it’s a start.
