Good morning. Let’s (briefly) basketball.
Good morning. NBA All-Star Weekend is here.
That and more in Friday’s NBA newsletter. Subscribe.

ROSE RISES: Only one game on Thursday, and in it Derrick Rose exploded to lead the Bulls over the Cavs. Second round playoffs preview?
MAPS & CHARTS: I did up five maps and charts regarding All-Star Weekend. I thought the most interesting one was the historic host cities map. Miami and Ft. Wayne have hosted All-Star an equal number of times. Why isn’t All-Star in South Beach every third year?! (Don’t answer that.)
UP FROM LEEDS: We’ve been talking a lot about Charles Barkley this week. Instead of his rants, we should probably be talking about this Jesse Washington story on Chuck’s upbringing in Alabama.
HMMM: Is Goran Dragic, a free agent in July, really available for first-round pick? Does Phoenix actually need more first-round picks more than they need perhaps their best player?
KING GEORGE: George Karl is officially the new coach of the Kings. Ty Corbin is remaining with the team, at least according to the official word. What a weird season in Sacramento. My friend Kevin Pelton busts some George Karl myths.
NEITHER CAN WE: Reggie Evans cannot believe Giannis Antetokounmpo is only 20.
SPEAKING OF GIANNIS ... Great quote from Adam Figman’s Q+A: “Pancakes was something that I had here in America. They’re the best. Every morning I love pancakes, with a lot of syrup. I fill the bowl with syrup first, then after that I dip the pancake on top of it. I put some strawberries, too.” I really hope he rinses his syrup bowl promptly after eating!
SPACE JAM VIA MS PAINT: Pretty brilliant lo-fi movie poster remixes, including Space Jam.
THEY LOVE THE ROAD-ROAD: The Warriors have a lot of fun on the road together.
INTRIGUING THESIS: Are Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook two sides of the same coin?
Happy Friday. Enjoy the Celebrity Game (7 p.m. ET, ESPN), the Rising Stars Challenge (9 p.m. ET, TNT) and The Starters’ Dunk Contest (6 p.m. ET, NBA TV).
