As for what we’re going to be doing in this space: The goal here will be to help you fill out your lineup. This post will be for the games on Sunday, Feb. 21 and I’ll be talking about the lineup that I’m going to be going with. Let’s get started.
The stars
LeBron James, F, Cavaliers ($10,500): The Cavaliers will be facing the Knicks on Sunday, a team that LeBron always kills. James has also been playing great of late. Early Sunday afternoon games in New York could be dangerous, but by this point we can be sure that LeBron knows how to handle the whole going out in New York thing. The only concern here would be that the Cavaliers blow out the Knicks and James sits out the entire fourth quarter. But with so many good cheap options at point guard and Kevin Durant battling an injury, LeBron's the best high-priced option for Sunday.
Nikola Vucevic, C, Magic ($8,600): Vucevic has put up 45.6 and 37.1 FanDuel points in his last two games. On Sunday he's also going up against the Sixers who are allowing opposing centers to register a league-high 48.3 FanDuel points per game, according to Rotoworld. Vucevic is averaging 19.8 points and 11.8 rebounds over his last five games.
Mid-priced players
Serge Ibaka, F, Thunder ($7,100): Only four teams are allowing opposing power forwards to score more FanDuel points per game (40.1) than the Nuggets, who Ibaka and the Thunder are playing on Sunday. Also making this a good matchup: that Durant is dealing with an ankle injury and could miss Sunday's game.
Klay Thompson, G, Warriors ($7,100): Not necessarily the best matchup, but the best fit in this lineup full of cheap point guards. Thompson won't let you down Sunday against the Pacers, which is all you can ask for.
Draymond Green, F, Warriors ($7,000): Green is averaging 30+ FanDuel points over his last two games, and 10.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks over his last five. The Pacers are allowing opposing small forwards to score 35.1 FanDuel points per game, the sixth highest number in the league. All this makes Green a good option for Sunday.
Ed Davis, F, Lakers ($6,000): The Celtics, who Davis and the Lakers are playing on Sunday, have struggled with power forwards all year. They're surrendering 41.6 FanDuel points to power forwards per game, the second highest number in the league. Davis is coming off a 16-point, 14-rebound performance on Friday and had eight points, three rebounds and three assists the game before. He's a bit of a gamble on Sunday, but you need someone to differentiate yourself. Davis could very well be that guy.
The rest
Langston Galloway, G, Knicks (5,400): This -- lower-priced guys -- is where you need to hit to win. Galloway is nothing special, but has proven himself a valuable contributor and player capable of putting up decent all-around numbers when given the opportunity. With the Knicks it's always a bit of a crapshoot, but Galloway is the best bet on the team.
Tim Hardaway Jr, G, Knicks ($4,600): The other Knicks player to go with, and certainly the one most capable of actually putting the ball in the basket. Hardaway is coming off a 17-point effort on Friday. Sunday he should be able to at least match that number.
Isaiah Canaan, G, Sixers ($3,500): The biggest gamble here, but also the difference maker in this lineup. The Sixers pretty much have no other point guards on the roster, and Canaan is going to be given every opportunity to succeed. To get a starting point guard for this price is unheard of. Take advantage of the chance.
