Nobody was sure if the Philadelphia 76ers expected any on-court impact from JaVale McGee when they traded for him right at last Thursday's trade deadline, but maybe the two sides are perfect for each other.
JaVale McGee wants to be a mentor for the 76ers
He was traded to Philadelphia last week.

"We are coming into this whole thing with an open mind," Sixers coach Brett Brown told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "He is around a bunch of genuine people, coaches that care. That will give him every chance to keep moving and to be as good as he can be."
After two rocky seasons in Denver, where he’s dealt with injuries and ineffectiveness, McGee has played limited minutes in both of the Sixers’ last two games. As a six-year NBA veteran, the 27-year-old also sees himself as a role model on an incredibly young team.
"When I was with the Wizards, I think it was my sophomore year, we won like 19 games," McGee said. "So I've been in the same situation. I've just definitely got to get these young guys' heads into it where they stay positive, keep playing hard, just look for wins and [learn] how to win."
JaVale McGee, veteran mentor, sounds like a lot of fun. Let’s hope it works out.
