Boston kept pace in the race for the No. 8 seed with a win against the Pacers. The loss was a tough one for Indiana which fell further off the pace. The Thunder got into a shootout with Dallas, but didn’t have enough to top the Mavs as the race for the No. 8 seed in the west tightened.

It was the type of game that reminds everyone that not only is he still among the best at his position, but also should receive MVP consideration after keeping his team alive in Blake Griffin’s absence. Paul punished the Blazers with his deft shooting from everywhere on the floor, connecting on 5-of-9 three-point attempts as well as hitting all 10 of his free throws.
“CP already had it going before that to be honest, but that just brought more energy into the game,” Doc Rivers said of the incident after the game. “When you’re lacking energy or just looking for anything, little plays like that can help you -- or they can do you in, too. You never know how that’s going to go. I was happy with how we responded to it.”
