Blake Griffin scored 18 and Chris Paul dished out 14 assists to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 95-86 at Staples Center on Saturday night, pulling into a three-way tie with Memphis and the San Antonio Spurs for the second seed in the Western Conference, with two games remaining.

Paul and Griffin have perfected the pick-and-roll and are complementary partners for each other, moving fluidly into simple action early in the shot clock and probing until a crack appears in the opposition.
Paul finished with 15 points and 14 assists while Griffin had an off-shooting night, but still managed to complete several key plays in the final minute for 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists overall.

Oh my. At least Spencer Hawes was there with a mop to get the thing down. This whole event is wonderful. A packed arena with thousands of people and the best way to resolve this game-stopping issue was to give a broom to the tallest guy they could find.

Mike Conley will likely miss the game with a foot injury, which puts the Grizzlies in a precarious position against one of the league’s best point guards in Chris Paul. Tony Allen is also out with a hamstring injury. To overcome that huge disadvantage, Memphis will need Marc Gasol to continue his string of great performances against the Clippers after averaging 18 points in 58 percent shooting in the past three matchups.
