THE KNICKS CAN’T EVEN TANK RIGHT: New York was in the best position to finish with the NBA’s worst record and, as a result, the best shot at the No. 1 pick and no worse than the No. 4 pick in the 2015 draft. Except the Knicks have now won two straight, including a victory over the Hawks on Monday, and it’s possible they could finish tied for the third worst record.
THIS IS IT: OKC and New Orleans both won, so it’ll come down to the final day of the season for the No. 8 seed. On Wednesday, the Thunder will need to beat the Wolves and need the Spurs to beat the Pelicans for OKC to make the postseason. If the Pels win or Thunder lose, New Orleans is in. Keep in mind that San Antonio does have reason to win. Should be a blast.
BOSTON IS IN: In typical East fashion, the Nets suffered an embarrassing blowout loss, which landed the Celtics in the playoffs. The Pacers currently hold the No. 8 seed, but they, Brooklyn and Miami remain alive.
WIGGIN’ OUT: Andrew Wiggins is gaining a reputation for challenging Very Tall Men at the rim. This time he obliterated Omer Asik.
OH KLAY: The Warriors have no logistic reason to keep burning folks, but Klay Thompson had himself a 37-point half against the Grizzlies. Golden State won, though Memphis made it really respectable.
D-LEAGUE DUNK ALERT: Bryce Cotton, my man!
