NBA playoffs 2015 schedule: Anthony Davis makes playoff debut, Rockets face Mavericks

Davis may soon be the NBA’s best player. On Saturday, he’ll get his first taste of the playoffs.

As another year of the NBA playoffs begins, we meet a new character: Anthony Davis. In his third year, the Pelicans freakishly athletic superstar will be introduced to the playoffs for the first time.

At the rate the 22 year old is growing, it won’t be long before he’s winning MVP’s and dominating the regular season with wins, not just crazy statistics. New Orleans’ first round opponent just happens to be the NBA’s best team, meaning it won’t be long until Davis is headed back home. But playoff experience, no matter how brief, is an important part of development.

As for Golden State, this is their year -- but yet people still doubt them because they're not the Spurs and they don't have LeBron James. Is there anything they can do besides win a championship that will earn them some respect?

Also on Saturday, a rivalry between Houston and Dallas heats back up. The two cities -- separated only by four hours on I-45 -- haven't played a series against each other since 2005. But after the events of this summer, where Mavericks owner Mark Cuban signed Chandler Parsons with an offer sheet he signed in a Florida nightclub, plenty of fuel has been added to what was already a heated competition.

Cuban calling the Rockets “not very good” surely didn’t help mend relations, as he did on Friday.
