Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie has taken his name out of consideration for the Oklahoma City Thunder head coaching job, reports CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Ollie was one of the few candidates reportedly on the short list to replace the recently fired Scott Brooks.
Kevin Ollie has pulled his name out of consideration for Thunder job, per report
Ollie will stay in Connecticut.

Ollie became a sought-after coach after leading the Huskies to a national championship in 2014. He also played for the Thunder in his final season in the league and reportedly made a positive impression on Kevin Durant, making him an ideal candidate for the job.
“As I have said many times, I am proud and honored to be the head basketball coach at the University of Connecticut and I have no plans to pursue other opportunities,” Ollie said on statement on Wednesday morning. Despite his comments and the fact that he had signed a five-year extension last season, his name remained in the rumor mill. Now that he’s made it clear he’s not leaving UConn, the Thunder will have to look elsewhere.
With Ollie pulling his name for consideration, University of Florida coach Billy Donovan becomes the favorite to receive the offer.
