The Clippers host the Spurs in a key swing game in this competitive first-round series.

The Los Angeles Clippers appeared to be in big trouble after getting shellacked by the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3, but Chris Paul and the Clippers responded with an impressive Game 4 victory to even up this competitive first-round series at 2-2. Now the series shifts back to Los Angeles for an important swing game on Tuesday night.

Paul had one of his worst games in recent memory in Game 3, tallying seven points, four assists and six turnovers in the Spurs’ 100-73 dominate performance. With the pressure on in Game 4, the point guard delivered when the Clippers needed him most, putting up 34 points and seven assists in a 114-105 victory that essentially saved the season.

Blake Griffin was also huge in Game 4, notching 20 points and 19 rebounds. The surprise of the game came from Austin Rivers, who had 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting in just 17 minutes off the bench. The Clippers' bench outside of Jamal Crawford has been much-maligned all season, so to get that type of production from an unlikely source off the bench was a huge boost.

Kawhi Leonard had another big performance in Game 4, putting up 26 points, seven boards and five assists. Leonard currently has the highest PER in the playoffs at a shade under 30, and San Antonio will need him to continue to shine moving forward.

That's especially the case if the Spurs' three-point shooting remains uncharacteristically off and Tony Parker can't find consistency due to his injuries. San Antonio is at just under 32 percent from three for the series after shooting 6-of-25 from long range in Game 4. Danny Green has played a major role in these struggles, shooting 0-of-6 from deep in Game 4 and 30 percent for the series.

The Spurs are sure to bounce back after the home loss, but expect the Clippers to be ready, because going back to San Antonio for a must-win Game 6 doesn’t sound like a good proposition. This should be another another highly entertaining affair with the winner grabbing control of the series.
