NBA playoff schedule 2015: Hawks try to hold off Nets, Grizzlies host Blazers

Atlanta tries to hold off Brooklyn at home, while Portland looks to keep its season alive.

This is where the playoffs get fun -- well, at least the first of Wednesday night's game should be a fun one. At 7 p.m. ET we'll get to see if the Brooklyn Nets can actually take the series lead against the No. 1 seed Atlanta Hawks, or whether they just had a couple of lucky games at home.

By now, you know the story of this series. The Hawks are heavy favorites, easily won their first two games at home, lost Game 3 in Brooklyn and also dropped Game 4 in overtime, after watching Deron Williams somehow explode for 35 points. Now here we are, back in Atlanta for what amounts to a best-of-three.

The Hawks should still win, but they have some tinkering to do. Al Horford needs to rediscover his shot and the Hawks need to rediscover their offense, scoring just 99 points per 100 possessions after averaging 106.2 during the regular season. The ball movement doesn't look crisp and the open looks aren't there. A few weeks ago it seemed like the Hawks could be headed for the Finals. Now it's unclear whether they'll even make it out of the first round. Game 5 should be a ton of fun.

Meanwhile, in Memphis the Grizzlies host the Portland Trail Blazers in a game that many assume will be Portland's final one this year. More importantly, it might be LaMarcus Aldridge's final game in a Blazers uniform. The Blazers' offensive explosion in Game 4 -- led by a resurgent Damian Lillard -- was nice to see. But Memphis is too good and too tough to let Portland win multiple games in a row, even without Mike Conley.

Then again, all the Blazers have to do is steal this game in Memphis to put all the pressure back on the Grizzlies. Do that and they return back home to Portland for Game 6, and after that you never know.

Well, we probably do. But we also thought the Hawks would be done with the Nets by now. The point is that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Maybe we’ll see that again Wednesday night in Memphis.

Tuesday’s schedule (all times Eastern)

Brooklyn Nets at Atlanta Hawks: 7 p.m. (TNT)

Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies: 9:30 p.m. (TNT)
