Clippers vs. Spurs 2015: Time, TV schedule and live stream for Game 6

The Clippers will look to avoid elimination when they visit the Spurs for the sixth game of a thrilling series.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Spurs escaped Los Angeles with a pivotal win in Game 5. A throwback Tim Duncan performance and some bad luck for the Clippers in the closing moments now have San Antonio one win away from advancing to the Western Conference semifinals. The Clippers will now have to win on the road to stay alive and hope for a Game 7 in Staples Center if they want to get past the first round. It's undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for both teams.

The Chris Paul-Blake Griffin-DeAndre Jordan triumvirate has been fantastic for the Clippers all series long, combining for nearly 60 points, over 31 rebounds and 14 assists per game. It's the supporting cast that has been inconsistent. After a very good performance in Game 4, the bench came crashing back to earth, scoring just 17 combined points. In a long series against a team as deep as the Spurs, that is a big handicap to overcome. It's not uncommon to see the starters gassed at the end of games, as Blake Griffin proved by going 1-9 from the field and committing three turnovers in the fourth quarter. The bench needs to step up or the Clippers' season might be over.

The Spurs have the opposite problem. Tony Parker and Tiago Splitter are hurt and Danny Green is in a shooting slump. That leaves Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard as the only two reliable starters and puts tremendous pressure on them to perform while playing heavy minutes. But someone always seems to step up for the Spurs off the bench. In Game 5, that was Patty Mills, who finished with 13 points on five shots. Along with timely contributions from Manu Ginobili and Boris Diaw, it was enough to offset the Clippers' star power.

Yet to fight off the desperate Clippers in an elimination game, the Spurs would surely love for Parker to have a good game and the shooters to continue to connect. San Antonio doesn’t want to go back to LA.

The series has been as exciting as billed and could come to a close on Thursday. With the stakes higher than ever and one of the best teams in the league going home, this has the potential to become an instant classic.
