Clippers vs. Rockets 2015: Time, TV schedule and live stream for NBA playoffs

Houston tries to stay alive at home in Game 5.

The Houston Rockets were embarrassed in both Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles, and now the Rockets are on the brink of elimination as the series shifts back to Houston for Game 5 on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers managed well without Chris Paul in the first two games of the series in Houston, but the Clippers reached a new level when Paul returned in Game 3. Los Angeles scored 124 points in Game 3 and 128 points in Game 4 as Houston, a strong defensive team in the regular season, has been powerless to stop the Clippers' potent offensive attack.

Paul wasn't at his personal best in his return, but Blake Griffin continued to do his thing while the supporting cast made major contributions as well. DeAndre Jordan had 26 points and 17 rebounds in Game 4, partially bolstered by Kevin McHale's Hack-a-Jordan strategy starting early in the game. Jordan took 28 free throws in the first half, a new playoff record.

J.J. Redick has had a marvelous series, as the sharpshooter is putting up nearly 20 points per game, good for second-best on the team. Then there's Austin Rivers, whose hot shooting has been one of the biggest surprises of these playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Rockets can't do much right. James Harden hasn't been bad this series, but the MVP runner-up hasn't been good enough offensively and has been a train wreck on defense. Dwight Howard fouled out in 18 minutes in Game 4 and received an ejection for good measure. Josh Smith has arguably been the worst player of the second round with his 27 percent shooting mark from the field. Houston's defense, three-point shooting and free throw shooting has stunk.

All this adds up to a series that likely ends on Tuesday night. The Rockets simply look overmatched against this Clippers squad that’s firing on all cylinders, although perhaps Houston shows some pride on its home court and is able to make things interesting with a win.
