The New Orleans Pelicans are beginning the process of finding Anthony Davis' next head coach, and that search will start with Warriors assistant coach Alvin Gentry. Gentry is meeting with New Orleans GM Dell Demps and president Mickey Loomis on Monday night in San Francisco to talk about the job, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Pelicans fired Monty Williams after a 45-37 season and a first-round sweep in the playoffs at the hands of Golden State. Gentry is in his first season as the Warriors' "offensive coordinator" for a unit that finished No. 2 in efficiency this season. The Chicago Bulls are also reportedly interested in Gentry should the team part ways with Tom Thibodeau.

Thibodeau is also of interest to New Orleans, though Wojnarowski reports Loomis is more on-boar with the idea than Demps. Demps is reportedly weary of Thibodeau’s “strong-willed” approach.

New Orleans also reportedly has interest in former Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy and former Thunder coach Scott Brooks.
