NBA players -- most notably Chris Paul -- pretend they are shooting 80-footers all the time when they think they’re being fouled. The referees never actually call it.
That is, unless you’re Manu Ginobili and Austin Rivers is trying to foul you. That this occurred against Paul’s team is the cruelest of ironies.
Paul hit a buzzer-beating three immediately thereafter, prompting this angry response from Doc Rivers.
