DeMarre Carroll listed as day-to-day after MRI shows no structural damage on knee
Carroll’s injury is not as severe as originally thought and he could return during the conference finals.

Carroll was driving to the basket when his knee gave out. The play can be seen here. He fell to the ground and writhed in pain, which made the injury look serious. It was initially feared that it was an ACL tear but the MRI showed no structural damage.
Carroll missing serious time would have been a huge blow to the Hawks' chances of getting past the Cavaliers and to the first NBA finals in franchise history. Carroll is their best perimeter defender and was tasked with guarding LeBron James. With Thabo Sefolosha out after suffering a broken ankle in a confusing episode involving the New York Police Department, Atlanta is very thin at the wing. Now there's a chance he could return to action, allowing the Hawks to stay competitive.
Carroll is averaging 16 points on 51 percent shooting from the floor (42 percent from beyond the arc), six rebounds and two assists in the postseason.
