Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
That and more in Saturday’s NBA newsletter.

SO, ABOUT THIS “LEBRON” CHARACTER: He’s pretty good at basketball. Paul Flannery’s Game 2 feature has all the important notes and the context for what King James is doing to the Hawks. This dude is really not fair. At one point, after the third quarter buzzer sounded, he mocked the Hawks guards getting blocked at the rim in bizarre, hilarious fashion. No one really reacted on the court, because he’s at such a level only he understood the joke in real-time.
Sad Hawks fans. :-(
WARRIORS-ROCKETS GAME 3, 9 PM ET, ESPN.
THE NOTORIOUS JVG! Jeff Van Gundy is a candidate for the Pelicans job and is interested, reports Marc Stein.
HELLO KOBE: Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak reiterates that Kobe Bryant is going to retire at the end of the 2015-16 season. Note that it’s not Kobe talking about this. When he has (including a tweet on Friday) he’s been vague. I’d put money on Kobe playing in a different uniform in 2016-17.
MORE PROOF OF RUSSELL WESTBROOK’S PREEMINENCE AS A CULTURAL ICON: He’s rocking out to Taylor Swift.
VALIDATION: Though the Rockets are down 0-2, they have completely validated their presence in the West finals.
GOOD QUESTION: Dave Zirin asks why the media is ignoring the huge story of Thabo Sefolosha’s injury at the hands of the NYPD. Personally, the lack of information makes it really difficult to write about. Thabo’s not talking, the NYPD isn’t talking. Let’s hope the story does get reported out.
EXPLAINING HARRISON BARNES: Summer camp at Jerry West’s house sounds amazing.
ON THE THIBODEAU/BULLS FEUD: Nice deep look by Nick Friedell.
STEPHLON: Why Stephen Curry has no haters.
Happy Saturday. See you next time.
