Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. The Bulls put the ‘fire’ in ‘you’re fired, Tom Thibodeau.’
That and more in Friday’s NBA newsletter.

GOOD NIGHT, TOMMY: The Bulls canned Tom Thibodeau on Thursday. But they didn’t just can him. They let the world know via a nasty press release that passive-aggressively confirmed all these issues the Bulls allegedly had with Thibodeau over the past year or so. Fred Hoiberg is the overwhelming favorite for the Bulls job now. Thibodeau will almost assuredly be a head coach within a couple of weeks. (Can you see Tom Thibodeau taking a year off?)
Here’s Adrian Wojnarowski’s column on how the Bulls and Thibodeau fell apart. I also enjoyed Kelly Dwyer’s review of coach-management dysfunction in Chicago.
THEY’RE KINDA CUTE WHEN THEY LOOK AT YOU LIKE THAT: Spencer Hall argues that the Rockets became way more likable when they took a heavy beating.
THE SECOND WAVE: I wrote about the Warriors that really kick your ass -- the second wave of Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala.
THE BETTER HALVES: Jimmy Spencer’s piece on how Stephen Curry’s family grounds him is very good. Speaking of which, it turns out Riley Curry is much more likely to behave in the presence of her mom and when it isn’t 9 p.m.!
UH, OK: Dwight Howard says that despite the loss, he’s still a “champion.” Draymond Green had the pitch perfect response.
BENCH SPLINTERS: Most of the Rockets’ bench will be hitting free agency.
OF COURSE: President Obama did a Twitter chat about climate change. It quickly turned into an NBA chat.
OUR HOUSE IS A VERY, VERY, VERY FINE HOUSE: Stadium Journey ranks the best NBA arena experiences for the 2014-15 season.
Happy Friday. GMIB will return to your inbox on Monday. Enjoy the weekend.
