Dwight Howard will be suspended for the first game of the 2015-16 season after exceeding the limit for flagrant foul points in the postseason, the NBA announced Friday.
Dwight Howard suspended for 1 game after elbowing Andre Iguodala
Dwight Howard will have to serve a one-game suspension next season for hitting Andre Iguodala with an elbow.

Howard made contact with his forearm around the neck area of Andre Iguodala in the third quarter of Game 5 of the series the Rockets played against the Warriors. It was called a common foul, but was upgraded to a flagrant 1 upon review by the league.
Howard was setting a screen when he extended his arm and his elbow made contact with Iguodala, who was trying to get around him.
The play seems more reckless than malicious but it's hard to argue with the league's decision to come down hard on him, especially after another incident in which Howard hit Andrew Bogut in the face in the same series.
He will miss the first game of next season in which eligible and physically able to play, which means he could be out on opening night.
Howard averaged 16 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks per game in the postseason.
