Good morning. Game 7 lived up to the hype.
That and more -- well, no, just more on that in Sunday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Did we survive that? Let’s basketball.
GAME OF THE CENTURY: Saturday night gave us a reminder that basketball is the most beautiful game ever invented. The Clippers outlasted the Spurs to move on. Chris Paul, hobbling around on one leg, nailed a crazy-as-Mugatu floater over Tim Duncan to give L.A. a two-point lead with seconds to go. L.A. knocked the ball away on the final Spurs possession after a horrific timekeeper’s error sent Gregg Popovich and R.C. Buford into the stratosphere. There were also odd foul calls in the final minute on each end. (Yes, there was a make-up call in the final minute of a tight Game 7.) But overall, the game and series were officiated well and there’s no real controversy here. I’m not sure there’s any debating that this was the best first-round series at least since the Nuggets beat the Sonics.
The Clippers move on to face the Rockets starting Monday; after gutting out Game 7, Doc Rivers says CP3 might not play.
Pop indicated he believes no one will be retiring: not him, not Tim Duncan and not Manu Ginobili. Why? The paycheck’s pretty good. Also, the Spurs legitimately ALL went out for a team dinner after that crushing loss. And ... hold up, is that George Hill in the front?!
IT DIDN’T MATTER, BUT ... Manu actually got three free throws on one of those full-court heaves when you know a foul is coming. The Clippers were apoplectic.
MORE BASKETBALL TODAY! I think we could all use a break, but alas. The NBA playoffs pauses for no man.
