Good morning. The Warriors ain’t nothing to mess with.

That and more in Monday’s NBA newsletter.

Good morning. Let’s basketball.

NO RUST: Golden State just crushed Memphis in Game 1 on Sunday afternoon. The Grizzlies are still missing Mike Conley, and I mean like really missing. Stephen Curry did Stephen Curry things (like all kinds of Stephen Curry things!) and Draymond Green was in rare form. I’m not sure there’s a path for a series win for Memphis that doesn’t involve Conley returning in peak form and Jeff Green having the series of his life.

Tony Allen, ever the villain, walked right through the middle of a performance by some kids in Warriors gold dancing during a break in the action. The Grindfather is despicable and absolutely hilarious.

WHO IS THAT TEAM BEHIND THE CURTAIN? The Wizards won their fourth straight road Game 1. That’s an NBA record. They beat the Hawks as Atlanta went ice cold late. Bradley Beal was not cold, however, and John Wall had a strong all-around game, and by all-around game I mean he was swatting fricking Paul Millsap. Wall hurt his wrist but played through it and Beal sprained his ankle pretty bad, too.

Kevin Arnovitz argues that the Hawks starters need to play more.

SURPRISE! A report out of the Bay Area says Stephen Curry will be named MVP this week. It’ll be interesting to see the vote totals. I enjoyed reading Ethan Sherwood Strauss on Curry’s fun factor.

POINT GOD: I wrote about Chris Paul finally writing his own legend.

TY FOR COMING: Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports that the Nuggets may trade Ty Lawson this summer. Denver Stiffs puts the Lawson era and his current status into perspective.

NOT DONE YET: This is not the final chapter for the Spurs.

’MR. JORDAN, I CAN’T LET YOU SCORE’: Darned good piece from Harvey Araton on Craig Ehlo’s recovery from being the antagonist in Michael Jordan’s first truly magical NBA moment.

TEAM TOAST 2.0: Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade watch the fight with Kanye West. Dope Yeezys, ‘Ye.

INTERESTING: Adam Silver says youth basketball officials want to keep intentional fouling in the game as an impetus to reinforce the fundamentals among young players.

WE’VE BEEN LIED TO: TMZ posted video of Tim Duncan helping a tanked-as-heck Aron Baynes onto the Spurs’ bus after a night out drinking following their elimination Saturday. I thought Australians could drink anyone under the table! Baynes, you are such a disappointment in so many ways.

Happy Monday. See you next time.
