Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. How many bone fractures am I holding up?
That and more in Friday’s NBA newsletter.

EXCEPT YOU, JOHN WALL: The Wizards announced on Thursday that John Wall has five (!) non-displaced fractures in his wrist and hand. It’s not actually clear whether Wall will try to play through it. It seems insane he would try to play through that, but he did keep playing in Game 1 when the injury happened. Jorge Castillo’s reporting makes it seem unlikely Wall will play in the next few games. Game 3 is Saturday evening.
The subplot here is that the Wizards told Wall it was just a sprained wrist. Michael Lee reports in a very sad, very good column that Wall clashed with the team’s medical staff because he knew it was something worse. It was. He ended up with a third opinion that confirmed the fractures. That doesn’t necessarily speak well of the Wizards’ medical staff, though there’s surely some nuance we’re missing.

Rockets at Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN, Tied 1-1
END INTENTIONAL FOULING: There are arguments against changing the rules to prevent the boring Hack-A-_____ sessions. I refute all of them.
INTERESTING: The Rockets kept Blake Griffin in check in the second half of Game 2 by going small on him.
SHOULD TIM DUNCAN RETIRE? Please don’t, please don’t, please don’t.
SECOND MOST IMPROVED: Draymond Green ended up finishing second in voting for two major awards: Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player.
WHAT IS WAS LIKE TO COVER THE STERLING-ERA CLIPPERS: Neat project by Deadspin to talk to former Clippers beat writers, one of whom made a draft pick for the team.
Happy Friday. See you next time.
