Good morning. Let’s basketball.
Good morning. The bank stays open late for Derrick Rose.
That and more in Saturday’s NBA newsletter.

DERRICK ROSE, DERRICK FELL AND DERRICK ROSE AGAIN: Just an amazing finish to Game 3 of Cavs-Bulls. With the game tied, Derrick Rose nailed a banked three over the outstretched arm of Tristan Thompson to put Chicago up, 2-1. (The courtside angle is especially ridiculous.) Ricky O’Donnell wrote a helluva piece on what that shot means to Chicago and Rose.
After the shot, Rose celebrated as only Rose can: stone-cold seriousness. Which opened up the meme floodgate; a few savants noted that Rose’s expression resembled that of Prince in the infamous Chappelle’s Show “Game Blouses” skits.
If things weren’t surreal enough already, ESPN’s Mark Schwarz asked LeBron James a cutting question about Kyrie Irving’s assist total ... as Kyrie was sitting right there next to LeBron. Kyrie’s reaction is impossibly good.
MORE LIKE AWESOME RIVERS: The Clippers pounded the Rockets so bad that Austin Rivers stole James Harden’s signature celebration and lived to tell about it. Rivers was at the center of a 23-0 second half run that put Houston away; he finished with 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting. We’ve had multiple Austin Rivers games this postseason, people. HOW?
The Clips lead, 2-1, and Chris Paul looked pretty good. (He also had a very sweet Dad moment with Doc.) There is some real confidence on that L.A. team right now.
TONIGHT! Or more like “this afternoon if you’re in the Rocky Mountains or West Coast ...
Hawks at Wizards, 5 p.m. ET, ESPN. We still don’t know if John Wall will play.
Warriors at Grizzlies, 8 p.m., ABC
PERSONAL ATTACKS: LeBron and Joakim Noah really don’t like each other. So LeBron put JoNo on a poster and then reminded me that he just put him on a poster.
COURTNEY LEE’S WINDING JOURNEY: Nice piece by Jake Fischer on how Courtney Lee found his way in Memphis.
MOMS’ DAY: Lee Jenkins with a dope story on NBA moms.
DRAFT SEASON: Kevin O’Connor’s top 10 sharpshooters in the NBA Draft.
MORE DRAFT: Finding the next Draymond Green.
SAD: For a few years there, Carmelo and Amare were increasingly popular baby names. It was pretty obvious that once they arrived as the saviors of New York basketball, their popularity increased. Well their popularity as baby names are really, really dropping now.
OH MAN: The Grizzlies’ Game 3 growl towels are amazing and I want one and why don’t I live in Memphis again?
SPEAKING OF WHICH ... This is in the opening paragraph of Brian Phillips’ amazing Tony Allen profile: “He’s like a combination of a professional wrestler, an elite superhero sidekick, and the dad from Finding Nemo.” Why haven’t you already clicked?
AS YOU MAY HAVE HEARD: ESPN’s president announced they will not be renewing Bill Simmons’ contract in the fall. Stay tuned.
NO BIG DEAL: Just Tim Duncan levitating.
