John Wall out for the Wizards for Game 3 against the Hawks

Wall suffered a hand and wrist injury that will keep him out of Game 3 and possibly longer.

John Wall won't suit up for the Wizards when they host the Hawks for Game 3 of the East semifinals, coach Randy Wittman announced.

Wall has five fractures on his hand and wrist but wanted to play. He held off on making a decision until the last possible second but he decided against playing on Saturday. There is no confirmation at this time if he’s out for the rest of the series or the playoffs as well or could return at a later time. There’s a risk that playing could aggravate his non-displaced fractures, potentially leading to surgery.

Ramon Sessions started in Wall's place in Game 2 and he will likely continue to fill the position for as long as Wall is out. He had 21 points and four assists in the loss. Combo guard Garrett Temple will surely receive some minutes as well.

Wall was averaging 17 points and 12 assists in five games in the playoffs before his injury.
